In 1991, the Soviet Union fell, due to both financial and political pressure. While the oligarchs were fighting overpower much of the Soviet Union’s military hardware went up for sale too. Many of the nuclear weapons that the Soviet Union placed in states outside of Russia were brought back to Russia, but it’s rumored that not all of them are accounted for.
