The Samson Option is Israel’s nuclear doctrine, where if Israel is ever under threat of losing a war, they are planning to release all of their nukes and destroy the world.

The plan is named after Samson from the Old Testament, who is judge. In his story he is captured as a prisoner by the Philistines, and is brough to a temple, where Samson utilizes his strength to knock over the pillars. This is in an effort to kill as many Philistines as samson could, while also sacrificing his own life (Judges 16.) This is the type of mentality that Israel has to utilizing their nuclear weapons.

Israel practices nuclear ambiguity, while also having a doctrine that dictates how they would destroy the world in the case of a military defeat. They threaten all nations, even European countries and America with the Samson Option.
