There were multiple movements that ran under the name of National Social Movement. One ran from 1962 to 1968, in Britain. There was an American version that was started 1978 that still runs today, mainly focus street protest. There were also group who labeled themselves the National Socialist Movement in Norway, as well as Denmark.

But the most notable group that went under the name “National Socialist Movement” was started in 1997 and only ran for two years. This group was started by Charlie Sargent, after he was kicked out of Combat 18, for being exposed as a Fed. This was claimed was stated ITV’s World in Action, when Sargent was in prison, for the murder of Chris Castle. Nation Social Movement was started by David Myatt, and around fifty other people who supported Sargent, along with Sargent’s brother, Steve.

In 1999 the London nail bombing, put the National Socialist Movement in the sights of the authorities, because of its alleged ties, even though the group’s leader, David Myatt, claimed they had none. David Copeland, who was the perpetrator of the bombings, was a member of the group. Myatt just claims he acted alone. After that the National Socialist Movement broke up.
