After the fall of the Soviet Union, Ukraine gain independence. One of the first things the newly independent country needed was its own version of a small are manufacturer. This new company would be called RPC Fort.
The company originally started out by manufacturing hunting rifles and .22 caliber rifles. After a few years of opening, in 1995 RPC Fort went on to design their first line of pistols known as the Fort-12. This pistol was used by both the Ukrainians forces, as well as being sold on the civilian market in Russia. After 3 more years in 1998, RPC Fort made the announcement that their plant in Vinnytsia was all set for full scale military production. In May, the Ukrainian military got their first batches of RPC Fort pistols. It also fell under the ownership of the state of Ukraine.
10 years later RPC, in 2008, RPC Fort would reach another profitable, but this time it was between Ukraine and Israel. Ukraine was trying to arm itself, with more modern weaponry, for future conflicts. Israel, with a history of secretly supporting genocides, through arms dealing, gave licensing to RPC Fort to recreate almost every single style of small arm Israeli Weapons Industry (IWI) produced. These included Tavors, Negevs, Galils, Uzis, Jericho, and others. There first batch of Israeli style weapons seem to be important, with changed markings.
Later RPC would produce Israeli style weapons, with proper more authentic Ukrainians markings.
In 2008 Ukraine officially adopted the Fort-224 and Fort-221as their main battle rifle. The one seen even had Meprolight style sights on them, which were also an Israeli made optic. During this time Israel pointed out that they new that they were arming neo-Nazis.

In March 2021 RPC Fort seemed to have dropped its deal with IWI, when it stopped showing their IWI based line of rifles. And in April, a month later they removed IWI and Meprolight as their partners from their web page. However, the company is still active and produces AK pattern rifles. Even as late as 2025, RPC-Fort has produced their own version of an SMG in 9mm, which closely resembles the H&K MP-7.
It’s very surprising to see how Israel could arm neo-Nazis, with Jewish designed/built weapons.
