In 1981 Raegan administration sold weapons to its adversary Iran, through Israel. Iran was losing a war with Iraq, but Israel wanted them to remain occupied. Israel acted as middleman shipping US made weapons to Iran. The fund from this went to the Nicaraguan Contras, who recently was cut from aid by Jimmy carter due to human rights violation, including the televised murder of Bill Stewart.
Director of CIA William Casey, met with staff of Argentina military, this was so they could work out an agreement were Argentina kept track of contras, US would supply weapons and funding. Israeli forces work alongside Argentinian and American to help train Contras and other active terror groups in south America. Israel put on workshops to train on how to torture for the most effective interrogations. Gave computer technology to help build death list.
