Dan Burros was a Jewish Neo-Nazi who was associated with many far-right organizations, during the 1960’s. Burros was born to a Russian Jewish family and went to a Hebrew school early on in life. He did well in school, but during his teenage years, he turned into a self-hating Jew, while also promoting neo-Nazism. He always said that he wanted to go to West Point, but only ever served in the national guard and active army. Early on he was pleased with his time in the service but then became depressed and wanted out. He had 3 attempted suicides. He even praised Hitler in some of his notes.
After he got out of the military, Burros became involved in the Klu Kluk Klan, and then later in 1958 he shifted focus towards neo-Nazism. He was said to be an avid antisemite. He was also very prone to pushing the group to do violent works, while also stating that Christianity was a religion to keep people weak. In 1960 he joined, the American Nazi Party. He was also very fascinated by torture, especially of Jews. During his time in the American Nazi Party Burros became close friends with John Patler, who was the same man who would later assassinate George Lincoln Rockwell. The two men bonded over fighting skills and printing material.

Some members claimed to know that he was Jewish, but Rockwell never kicked him out, be he had many valuable skills, that the party needed, even though he was seen as to fanatical and violent. Interestingly he let other members know that he knew Hebrew, but only learned it, to investigate the enemy.
After leaving American Nazi Party Burros joined the American National Party. During his time in this group, he was known as a constant schemer. With the two of them constantly harassing and accusing other members of being Jewish spies, Burros and other members associated with him became quickly disliked. In July 1963 Burros and other members of the American Nationalist Party got arrested and tried for conspiracy. All of them were found guilty and sentenced to 1-2 years in prison. Oddly enough Burros was released after 2 weeks thanks to an appeal. After this event, he left the party.
During the investigations into the JFK assassination, it was found out that Burros had contact with Lee Harvey Oswald. Burros also wear a pin, with the slogan, “Lee Harvey Oswald Fan Club.” We all know who really killed JFK.
On October 22, 1965, an article in the New York Times was published. Soon he started being interviewed more, with another article coming out about him on the 30th. After it was exposed that he was Jewish, he committed suicide, with three gunshot wounds. Not many people who know about Dan Burros views his death as a suicide.
Dan Burros was a Jew who infiltrated and ruined many right winged groups. His tactics usually involved promoting violence, and fanaticism. Even though Burros was so destructive to the movement, he was able to fund and provide printing services to the party. He also had weird connections to two assassins, who were known to have anti-Israeli views.
