After the recent war in Palestine, in 1947, along with World War Two, and getting kicked out of 109 countries, the Jews knew that they needed their own form of an intelligence agency. They have the Shin Bet which deals with internal threats while the AMAN deals with military intelligence. The Mossad on the other hand was meant to deal with pollical intelligence. Since their inception in 1949 the Mossad has had their hands in so many different types of dirty businesses. This includes activities like assassinations, false flags, black mail, terror funding, venture capitalism, and other nefarious activities.
The Mossad has many different divisions and types of spies. Each division has a specialty. The largest is the Tzomet, which focuses on running agents overseas. There is the Keshet that does intel work that involves break ins and installing listening devices. However, the Caesarea is another division of the Mossad that’s involved in the line of work assasinations. Another infamous division is the Metsada, not to be consused with the Metzada, which is part of the Israeli state prisoner service. Metsada is responsible for conducting highly sensitive assignments such as assassinations, sabotage, paramilitary, and psychological warfare projects. They have also been noted to work with paramilitary groups that support. This is why so many Galil Aces are seen in modern genocides, or why Hamas has Tavors.
While the Mossad has many different divisions, some we most likely don’t know about, they also have three different types of agents. The main ones we see in movies are Katsa and Kidon. These are both full-time agents. The Katsa are regular intel officers while the Kidons are agents who focus on assassinations. The third type of member that the Mossad has are Sayanim. A Sayanim isn’t a full-time agent of the Mossad but rather it’s a person who is a Jew or Zionist who volunteers to help the Mossad out of devotion.
